M.D. Professor, Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology, Adana/TURKEY Retinal prosthesis systems are developed to obtain light perception and vision by causing electrical stimulation in inner retinal layers, in patients having visual deprivation due to diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and age related macular degeneration, which occur as a result of outer retinal layer damage.
