Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Göz Hastalıkları, Ankara
Tilted disc syndrome is a result of incomplete embryonic closure
of optic cup equally aff ects men and women. It is bilateral,
non-hereditory congenital optic nevre head anomaly in which the
superomedial optic disc is elevated and the inferonasal disc is
posteriorly displaced to form an oval-shaped disc with its long
axis obliquely oriented. The anomaly is associated with mild to
moderate myopic astigmatism, visual field defects, situs inversus
of the major retinal vessels, inferior or inferonasal crescent or
conus .İn this case we present a 62-year-old woman copmplained about low vision in both eyes. On fundoscopy extreme disc tiltation with scleral crescent and situs inversus appeared falsely as double optic disc. With explanation of detailed anatomy we represent this unique appearance.
