Update on experimental animal models in common retinal diseases: Rodents to Zebrafi sh

Diabetic Rethinopathy (DR) and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) are common retinal diseases that can result with visual
impairment. In spite of the new developments in the treatment modalities of these diseases there are stil many ongoing research in
patophysiology and treatment. The choice of experimental animal model is very important in these researches. There are several models
reported in the literature. However, an ideal model has not yet been reached. In this review, it is aimed to share information about
experimental animal models that can be used for DR, AMD and similar retinal diseases.
