PROTEIN S DEFICIENCY AND VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE

Thirty-seven years old fermale with a history of sudden visual loss in her left eye, was diagnosed as vitreous hemorrhage .In the follow-up examinations, development of neovascularization secondary to superior temporal branch vein thrombosis was detected and laser photocoagulation was applied. There was no evidence of any predisposition to thrombosis either in her or her familial medical history. She was then found to have protein S deficinency according to the hematological tests.
