OCULAR TOXOCARIASIS

Ocular toxocariasis is a parasitosis which is common all of the world and have an important place among the child blindness. We have considered clinical properties and laboratory details and responds to medical theapy of two patients. In our first patients, the uveitis was progressed with similar picture of DUSN, and a periferal granuloma was observed after approximately three years from onset of the disease. In our second case, We found a severe vitritis in her left eye, and charecteristic periferal granuloma in ocular ultrasonography and an eosinophilia in white blood cell count. ELISA test for Toxocara canis was positive in the both patients. The both cases respond well to steroids by oral or periocular mute.
