SSK Ankara Hastanesi 2. Göz Kliniği
140 cases of retinal detachment operated between the years March 1992-June 1994 are evaluated by their postoperative results and complications. 80 of the cases were uncomplicated retinal detachment and 12 of them were operated using only local indentation technique, while 8 with scleral buckling and local indentation and 60 with only scleral buckling technique. 20 eyes were operated using both scleral buckling and perfluorocarbon liquids because of proliferative vitreoretinopathy. 40 eyes of complicated retinal detachment were also operated with scleral buckling and perfluorocarbon gases. Retina is reattached with the first operation in 24 eyes (%87.5). In 9 eyes retinal reattachment is established with a second operation.
