Twenty-four eyes of 20 patients with optic pit, morning glory syndrome or optic disc coloboma were evaluated clinically. Of the 24 eyes, 11 had optic pit, 10 optic disc coloboma and 3 morning glory syndrome. Visual acuity was 1.0 in six eyes and ranged from 0.5 to 0.9 in five, 0.2 to 0.4 in five and hand movements to 0.1 in eight eyes. There were various visual field defects in 16 of 18 patients who had undergone visuel field testing. There were serous macular detachment in eight of 11 eyes with optic pit and in two of 10 eyes with optic disk coloboma. Juxtapapillary subretinal neovascular membrane was discovered in a patient with disc coloboma. The clinical and fluorescein angiographic features of these clinical entities were discussed.
