Postoperative Endopthalmitis: Therapeutic Considerations
SB Ankara Hast. Göz Kliniği
The most important aspect of the treatment of postoperative endopthalmitis is the early diagnosis and prompt treatment. Intraocular antibiotic and vitrectomy are the mainstay of the treatment. Vancomycin is an appropriate single agent for gram-positive coverage. In the absence of laboratory support, an aminoglycoside or another gram- negative antibiotic (possibly ceftazidime) should be administered.
