Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion: A Rare Complication of Acute Toxoplasmic Retinochoroiditis
Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları A.D., Ankara
Purpase: In this study, we presented a case with ocular toxoplasmosis in whom branch retinal artery occlusion occured within the active retinochoroiditis lesion. In this patient, reperfusion of the artery was detected after corticosteroid and antiparasitic therapy. Toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis may be complicated rarely with retinal artery occlusions. For the management, antimicrobial therapy with corticosteroid should be considered in order to suppress the inflammation causing vascular occlusion.
