Uludağ Üniversitesi Göz Hastalıkları AD, Bursa Purpose: The characteristics of retinal detachments related to non-hereditary congenital abnormalities of the eye are different in some aspects from the characteristics of primary retinal detachment. The diagnosis of such cases is more difficult, and the anatomic and functional success is poorer as a result of the additional congenital abnormalities. In this review, the different characteristics and treatment modalities of retinal detachments associated with congenital eye abnormalities are discussed.
