Optic Atrophy Due to ICG Assisted ILM Peeling for Macular Hole Surgery
1Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Göz Hastalıkları AD, İzmir2Retina Göz Hastalıkları ve Laser Dal Merkezi, İzmir Case Report: Two patients, one male and the other female, 55 and 62 years old, successively, underwent pars plana vitrectomy and ICG-assisted (0.25 %) internal limiting membrane peeling surgery for macular hole repair. The operations were completed with intravitreous injection of 20 % SF6 self-expanding gas. Postoperative visual acuities, color fundus photographs and fundus photographs with ICG-filter and computerized static visual field analysis were recorded. At the end of 1st postoperative month, the macular holes were closed but optic atrophy ensued. Keywords : ICG, ILM peeling, macular hole, optic atrophy, toxicity
