Uv radiation, which consist of UV-A, UV-B and UV-C waves and is between 200-400 nm, has beneficial effects as well as side effects on human beings. Today, because of the damage in ozone layer the harmful effect of sunlight especially occurs on skin and eyes. Sunlight causes tumors of eye lids, pterygium, keratitis, cataract. It can also effects aqueous humor and make changes in vitreuous body as well as the retina. Also visible radiation can cause solar retinopathy. Eye diseases due to sunlight can be minimalized by using sunglasses. Keywords :
