3Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları A.D., Adana, Asist. Dr. Purpose: To determine the treatment modalities and results in patients who were followed up with a diagnosis of retinal capillary hemangioma.
Materials and Methods: The records of 5 patients (1 female, 4 male), aged 13-44 years, with a diagnosis of retinal capillary hemangioma, were retrospectively reviewed, and treatment alternatives and results were discussed.
Results: Laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy, and intravitreal bevacuzimab (Avastin) were applied in combination or individually. During a mean follow-up of 6-22 months, 4 of the 5 patients showed an improvement with treatment, and an increase in visual acuity was observed. Advanced visual loss developed in 1 patient, who was admitted during the late stage and discontinued follow-up.
Conclusion: Retinal capillary hemangioma is a vasoproliferative tumor that may cause vision loss. Regression can be achieved with effective treatment methods. Keywords : Retinal capillary hemangioma, laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy, intravitreal bevacuzimab, treatment
