Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fak. Göz Hast AD.
Obstruction of small venous tributaries draining macula can affect vision significantly. Because of its clinical and therapeutic implications an accurate diagnosis of acular branch vein occlusion is essential. In this study clinical and fluorescein angiographic features of 52 cases with macular branch vein occlusion has been reviewed. There are two severe complications affecting visual prognosis: macular edema and ischemia. Early laser photocoagulation of macular edema and therapy of underlying systemic disease such as diabetes and hypertension has been recommended.
