The characteristic fundus changes such as posterior staphyloma, peripapillary conus, chorioretinal atrophy, and choroidal neovascular membrane can be seen in pathological myopia. Intrachoroidal cavitation is a rare fi nding of pathological myopia and fi rstly defi ned as a localized peripapillary retinal pigment epithelial detachment. Subsequently, it was showed that this lesion is characterized with a intrachoroidal hyporefl ective space, not a peripapillary detachment. In addition to characteristic fundus fi ndings, optical coherence tomography has a great importance to defi ne the intrachoroidal cavitation.

In this case report, a patient with choroidal neovascular membrane in one eye and intrachoroidal cavitation in fellow eye was presented and fundoscopic changes and optical coherence tomography fi ndings related to intrachoroidal cavitation were discussed. Keywords : Intrachoroidal cavitation, optical coherence tomography, pathological myopia
